CVE-2023-38357Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Unauthenticated session access via enumerable tokens

Published Aug 1, 2023 · Updated Oct 17, 2024

Insufficient session-token entropy in RWS WorldServer 11.7.3 and earlier allows remote attackers to access user sessions through the SOAP API. WorldServer assigns positive numeric session tokens below 2^31, while the loginWithToken action permits enough parallel guesses to enumerate active values within hours. No authentication or user interaction is required, and a successful guess grants the victim's session privileges, including administrative access when an administrator's token is found.
