Code execution via unvalidated installer TLS certificates
Published Sep 19, 2023 · Updated Sep 25, 2024
Improper certificate validation in MiniTool Movie Maker 7.0 allows man-in-the-middle attackers to execute code during installation. The installation process fails to validate the server's TLS certificate before accepting and executing downloaded installation content. An attacker must control or intercept the network path to substitute executable content, which then runs with the installer's privileges.
