OS command injection in OpenNDS before 10.1.3 allows attackers with configuration-file access to execute arbitrary commands. The gateway FQDN value is interpolated into helper-script command strings that _execute_ret() passes to popen() without neutralizing shell metacharacters. Direct or indirect write access to the configuration file is required, and exploitation executes commands on the captive-portal host.
