CVE-2023-38317

Command execution via unsanitized interface name

Published Jan 26, 2024 · Updated Jun 3, 2025

OS command injection in openNDS before 10.1.3 allows attackers with configuration-file access to execute arbitrary commands. The network-interface setting from opennds.conf is accepted without sanitization and later incorporated into an OS command. Exploitation requires direct modification of opennds.conf or an interface that writes attacker-controlled values into it, and commands run with daemon privileges.
