Browser script execution via tunneled third-party URL
Published Jul 31, 2023 · Updated Oct 22, 2024
Cross-site scripting in Webmin 2.021 HTTP Tunnel allows remote attackers to execute JavaScript through a crafted third-party URL. The HTTP Tunnel feature opens content from a supplied third-party URL in the Webmin browser context rather than isolating its active code. Exploitation requires a Webmin user to enter and open the attacker-controlled URL, after which script execution can expose or alter browser-accessible data in that Webmin session.
