Browser script execution via crafted download path
Published Jul 31, 2023 · Updated Oct 22, 2024
Cross-site scripting in Webmin 2.021 allows remote attackers to execute script in a victim's browser through a crafted download path. The download workflow accepts an attacker-controlled URL path and later renders that path as active web content when the download link is accessed. Exploitation requires a victim to access the crafted link; the resulting script can read or modify data available to that browser session.
