Local IMEI disclosure via unprotected system property
Published Apr 22, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Information disclosure in TCL 30Z Firmware allows local users to read the device IMEI through an Android system property. A high-privilege process copies the non-resettable identifier into gsm.device.imei0, bypassing Android 10's direct-access restriction for ordinary apps. Any installed local app can read the property without permissions or special privileges, exposing a persistent device identifier.
