CVE-2023-38297

System-privileged actions via exposed broadcast receiver

Published Apr 22, 2024 · Updated Mar 13, 2025

Improper access control in com.factory.mmigroup 2.1 allows local users to trigger system-privileged actions through a malicious app. MMIGroupReceiver accepts a broadcast Intent and dynamically registers action strings that unprivileged apps can send into the package's system-user context. Exploitation requires installation and execution of a local third-party app; build-dependent consequences include identifier disclosure, settings changes, shutdown, factory reset, or AT-command execution.
