Arbitrary system file access via missing permission
Published Apr 22, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Incorrect permissions in TCL 10L RKQ1.210107.001 and TCL 30Z SP1A.210812.016 firmware allow local users to read and write system files. DataService trusts com.tct.smart.switchphone.permission.SWITCH_DATA when a third-party app defines it as a normal permission, leaving the service unprotected at runtime. Exploitation requires installation and execution of a local app but no further user interaction, and file operations execute in the system service's context.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
