Stored cross-site scripting via cover photo upload
Published Jul 22, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Cross-site scripting in Bug Finder Listplace Directory Listing Platform 3.0 allows remote authenticated users to alter rendered pages via user_cover_photo. The /listplace/user/coverPhotoUpdate Photo Handler accepts the user_cover_photo value without adequate output encoding, allowing injected script content to execute when the resulting page is viewed. Exploitation requires a reachable application account and a victim who loads the affected page; the documented impact is browser-side integrity compromise without demonstrated server takeover or service interruption.
