Memory disclosure via out-of-bounds font parsing
Published Aug 10, 2023 · Updated Feb 27, 2025
Out-of-bounds read in Adobe Acrobat Reader 23.003.20244 and earlier allows attackers to disclose memory through a malicious PDF. The embedded-font parser insufficiently validates document-supplied bounds and reads beyond the allocated object, exposing adjacent process memory. A victim must open the crafted file; the resulting disclosure can reveal sensitive data and weaken address-layout randomization.
