Authenticated command execution via unfiltered sendmail arguments
Published Oct 21, 2023 · Updated Sep 16, 2024
Command injection in SuperWebMailer 9.00.0.01710 allows remote authenticated users to execute operating-system commands through sendmail settings. The mtaedit.php handler accepts sendmail_path and sendmail_args values without encoding or filtering, then incorporates them into the sendmail command line. An account permitted to create or modify a Versandvariante can inject shell metacharacters, and testing that mail transport executes the commands with the web application's privileges.
