Heap-memory disclosure via TCP/IP use-after-free
Published Sep 12, 2023 · Updated Oct 30, 2025
Use-after-free in Windows TCP/IP on affected Windows releases allows local users to read heap memory through a crafted local interaction. TCP/IP code references memory after it has been freed, exposing contents from the reused heap allocation rather than only the intended network data. Exploitation requires low-privileged local access, needs no user interaction, and is limited to confidentiality loss in the published assessment.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.

Attacks
What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
