Code execution via annotation pop-up rendering
Published May 3, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Out-of-bounds write in Foxit PDF Reader and PDF Editor allows remote attackers to execute code through a crafted PDF file. The annotation pop-up renderer mishandles abnormal parameters in a Doc object and writes past the end of its allocated memory. The target must visit a malicious page or open the file; successful exploitation runs code in the current process, while failed exploitation can crash it.
