CVE-2023-38100Network attack vector

Privilege escalation via clearAlertByIds SQL injection

Published May 3, 2024 · Updated Sep 18, 2024

SQL injection in NETGEAR ProSAFE Network Management System NMS300 before 1.7.0.20 allows remote authenticated users to escalate privileges. The clearAlertByIds function inserts a user-supplied string into SQL queries without proper validation, enabling injected SQL to run. Authentication is nominally required, but the authentication mechanism can be bypassed, exposing resources otherwise restricted to higher-privileged users.
