SYSTEM code execution via exposed BkreProcessThread function
Published May 3, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Remote code execution in NETGEAR ProSAFE NMS300 before 1.7.0.20 allows remote attackers to execute code as SYSTEM. The BkreProcessThread class exposes a dangerous function to network requests without adequately restricting its invocation. Authentication is nominally required, but the existing authentication mechanism can be bypassed, yielding full SYSTEM-context execution.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
