Administrator code execution via unneutralized configuration commands
Published Jul 24, 2023 · Updated Oct 23, 2024
OS command injection in OTRS System Configuration allows remote authenticated users with administrator privileges to execute code on the server. The SchedulerCronTaskModule setting accepts UnitTests modules as commands without neutralizing command elements before local execution. Access to the administrator-only configuration interface is required, and successful exploitation runs attacker-selected code with the application's host privileges.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
