CVE-2023-38035Known exploitationPublic exploitNetwork attack vector

Unauthenticated root command execution via exposed MICSLogService

Published Aug 21, 2023 · Updated Oct 21, 2025

Authentication bypass in Ivanti Sentry 9.18.0 and earlier allows remote attackers to access sensitive MICS administration APIs. The Apache HTTPD configuration exposes MICSLogService without authentication, and uploadFileUsingFileInputMS passes attacker-controlled command data to privileged execution. Exposure of HTTPS port 8443 permits unauthenticated remote command execution as root; restricting that port to trusted management networks reduces reachability.
