CVE-2023-38021

Local enclave-data disclosure via unchecked pointer alignment

Published Dec 30, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024

Information disclosure in Fortanix EnclaveOS CCM before 3.32 allows local users to read protected enclave data through SGX entry paths. The enclave_ecall function and system-call layer fail to reject non-aligned untrusted pointers, leaving 33 stale-data buffer-read paths. Exploitation requires low-privileged local access on an Intel SGX host and affects confidentiality without reported integrity or availability impact.
