CVE-2023-37948Network attack vector

OCI host impersonation via unchecked SSH keys

Published Jul 12, 2023 · Updated Nov 6, 2024

Missing SSH host-key validation in Jenkins Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Compute Plugin 1.0.16 and earlier allows attackers to trust spoofed OCI hosts. The SSH connection path trusts the presented server key without comparing it to a configured trusted key, allowing a man-in-the-middle system to impersonate an OCI host. Exploitation requires a network position between the Jenkins controller and OCI target, and Jenkins has not confirmed that the behavior is exploitable.
