Authentication bypass via substring health-check allowlist
Published Jul 21, 2023 · Updated Oct 10, 2024
Authentication bypass in Dapr before 1.10.9 and 1.11.0 through 1.11.1 allows remote attackers to invoke HTTP APIs without a token. The sidecar's APITokenAuthMiddleware treats any full URL containing /healthz, including a query string, as an authentication-exempt health check. API token authentication must be enabled and the HTTP API reachable; successful exploitation permits access to any Dapr HTTP API, including service invocation.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
