CVE-2023-37915Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Remote service crash via uninitialized property pointer

Published Jul 21, 2023 · Updated Oct 10, 2024

Improper input validation in OpenDDS before 3.25 allows remote attackers to crash processes via a malformed RTPS DATA submessage. ParameterListConverter::from_param_list assigns a null PID_PROPERTY_LIST property to proxy.property, and the sequence copy dereferences its uninitialized buffer pointer. Unauthenticated access to the participant-discovery UDP port is sufficient; the demonstrated consequence is a segmentation fault and service interruption.
