CVE-2023-37913Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Authenticated file write via office filename traversal

Published Oct 25, 2023 · Updated Sep 12, 2024

Path traversal in XWiki Platform allows remote authenticated users to write attachment content anywhere writable during office conversion. The office importer passes an attachment's user-controlled filename into temporary-file storage without removing traversal segments, allowing resolution outside its work directory. A low-privileged account and a running office conversion process are required; a successful write can replace an extension JAR and execute Java code.
