Attachment disclosure and deletion via unchecked move permissions
Published Oct 25, 2023 · Updated Sep 17, 2024
Missing authorization in XWiki Platform allows remote authenticated users with document edit access to move restricted attachments. MoveAttachmentJob invoked moveAttachment without checking VIEW and EDIT rights on the source or EDIT rights on the destination. Edit access to any document, including a default-editable user profile, is sufficient to expose, republish, and delete a known attachment from a restricted source document.
