Admin-browser script execution via unneutralized mail settings
Published Jul 13, 2023 · Updated Oct 30, 2024
Cross-site scripting in Geeklog 2.2.2 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary scripts in an administrator's browser via mail settings. The /admin/configuration.php Mail handler returns submitted backend, host, port, and auth values without neutralizing HTML and script markup. Exploitation requires administrator access and browser rendering after submission, confining the demonstrated impact to the Geeklog web origin.
