Stored script execution via unsanitized smile code
Published Jul 13, 2023 · Updated Oct 30, 2024
Stored cross-site scripting in ImpressCMS 1.4.5 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute web scripts through smile_code. The smile editor accepts a crafted smile_code value and stores it without neutralizing executable markup before editprofile.php renders it. Administrator access is required to plant the payload, and script execution occurs when another user opens an affected profile view.
