Denial of service via cross-namespace policy application
Published Sep 28, 2023 · Updated Sep 26, 2024
Denial of service in HashiCorp Vault Enterprise before 1.13.8 and 1.14.0 through 1.14.3 allows remote authenticated users to interrupt service. The policy engine fails to confine an operator-created Sentinel RGP to its namespace hierarchy and applies it to requests in an unrelated, non-descendant namespace. Exploitation requires operator privileges and a configured RGP; affected requests can be denied outside the policy's intended scope.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=0.11.0 <1.13.0
