Remote code execution via unchecked sprintf
Published Jul 10, 2023 · Updated Nov 12, 2024
Stack-based buffer overflow in Tenda FH1203 2.0.1.6 allows remote attackers to execute code or crash the router via deviceId. The addWifiMacFilter handler passes the user-controlled deviceId value to sprintf without a length check, overflowing stack buffer v8. The handler is network-reachable without authentication; exploitation can corrupt the service stack, crash the router, or execute code in the service context.
