Open redirect via unvalidated login return URL
Published Jul 26, 2023 · Updated Oct 23, 2024
Open redirect in Netdisco before 2.063000 allows remote attackers to send authenticated users to arbitrary web URLs through crafted links. The login handler passes the attacker-controlled return_url parameter directly to redirect after authentication instead of reducing it to a local path. A victim must open the link and complete login; the result is navigation to an attacker-selected site, with no direct data access or service interruption established.
