Runtime service interruption via invalid internal read
Published Aug 3, 2023 · Updated Oct 11, 2024
Improper input validation in CmpAppBP in affected CODESYS products allows remote authenticated users to interrupt runtime service. CmpAppBP accepts CODESYS protocol requests with inconsistent tag content and reads an invalid internal address instead of rejecting them. A valid user session and knowledge of the proprietary protocol are required; successful exploitation interrupts controller or simulation operation.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
