Privilege escalation in HCL AppScan Presence 2.1.37 and earlier allows local users to gain elevated Windows privileges. The HCL Presence Windows service registers an executable path containing spaces without quotation marks, allowing Windows path resolution to select an earlier executable candidate. Exploitation requires low-privileged local access and write access to a candidate location; service launch executes the planted binary with the service account's privileges.
