CVE-2023-37498Network attack vector

Privilege escalation via replayed administrator group request

Published Aug 3, 2023 · Updated Oct 17, 2024

Privilege escalation in HCL Software HCL Unica Platform before 12.1.1 allows remote attackers to gain elevated access via a replayed POST request. The group-assignment workflow accepts a previously issued administrator POST request and applies arbitrary group membership to the submitting user's account. The request must first be obtained from an administrator; successful reuse grants the submitter the privileges carried by the selected groups.
