Unauthenticated database queries via missing proxy checks
Published Aug 8, 2023 · Updated Oct 10, 2024
Missing authentication in SAP PowerDesigner 16.7 allows remote attackers to run arbitrary queries against a back-end database via Proxy. The PowerDesigner Proxy accepts database-query requests without performing the required authentication and authorization checks before forwarding them to the repository database. Network reachability to the configured Proxy is sufficient; successful exploitation permits reading, changing, or deleting repository data within the Proxy database account privileges.
