Authenticated command execution via unsanitized SMB password
Published Aug 24, 2023 · Updated Oct 2, 2024
Command injection in IceWhale Technology Limited CasaOS before 0.4.4 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary commands. PostSambaConnectionsCreate passes unsanitized SMB fields to MountSmaba, which concatenates them into a shell command that invokes MountCIFS. CasaOS authentication and a reachable attacker-controlled SMB server are required; a crafted password then executes with service privileges.
