CVE-2023-37468

LDAP password disclosure via cleartext database storage

Published Jul 13, 2023 · Updated Oct 22, 2024

Cleartext credential storage in Feedbacksystem 1.5.0 through 1.19.1 allows attackers with database access to read LDAP passwords. LoginController.scala passes the submitted LDAP password to userService.create, which persists it as the new local user's password. Only LDAP-enabled deployments and a user's first LDAP login expose credentials through this path; local-only and CAS login users are unaffected.
