Remote code execution via unescaped page name
Published Jul 14, 2023 · Updated Oct 30, 2024
Eval injection in XWiki Platform versions 7.0-rc-1 through 14.4.7 and 14.5 through 14.10.3 allows remote authenticated users to execute code via a crafted page name. The SkinsCode.XWikiSkinsSheet document fails to escape the requested page name before constructing skin links, allowing Groovy or Python macros to run with programming rights. View access to that document and network reachability are required; successful exploitation enables unrestricted reading and writing of wiki contents and remote code execution.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
