CVE-2023-37461Public exploitNetwork attack vector

File overwrite via unchecked attachment destination

Published Jul 17, 2023 · Updated Oct 10, 2024

Path traversal in MeterSphere before 2.10.3 allows remote attackers to overwrite process-accessible files through attachment uploads. The test-case upload passes an unrecognized belongType value into saveAttachment as part of the destination path instead of rejecting or normalizing traversal segments. The upstream proof of concept uses an authenticated workflow, although the current CNA vector rates no privileges or interaction; successful exploitation creates or replaces writable files.
