CVE-2023-3745Public exploit

Application crash via YCbCr TIFF heap over-read

Published Jul 24, 2023 · Updated Jun 26, 2026

Heap-based buffer over-read in ImageMagick 6.x before 6.9.11-0 and 7.x before 7.0.10-0 allows local users to crash it via a crafted TIFF. The TIFF decoder sends YCbCr strip data through its optimized RGB import path, where PushCharPixel reads one byte beyond the allocated strip buffer. User interaction is required to open or convert the crafted image; the established consequence is an application crash, not code execution.
