CVE-2023-3744Public exploitNetwork attack vector

File disclosure and internal requests via unrestricted imageURL

Published Oct 2, 2023 · Updated Sep 20, 2024

Server-side request forgery in SLiMS 9.6.0 allows remote authenticated users to read local files or query internal services via imageURL. The scrape_image.php endpoint loads attacker-controlled local paths or network URLs instead of restricting retrieval to approved image files and locations. Any account able to reach the endpoint can extract retrieved content as a base64-encoded image, including database backups and host files, or probe services that are not externally exposed.
