CVE-2023-37426Network attack vector

Server impersonation via shared static SSH host keys

Published Aug 22, 2023 · Updated Oct 3, 2024

Hard-coded SSH host keys in HPE Networking EdgeConnect Orchestrator allow remote attackers to impersonate an Orchestrator host. Every affected installation uses the same SSH host key instead of generating unique key material, so possession of that key permits a forged host signature. Remote attackers with the shared private key and a position to redirect SSH traffic can masquerade as the expected server and intercept trusted connections.
