CVE-2023-37404

Arbitrary code execution after DNS poisoning

Published Oct 4, 2023 · Updated Sep 19, 2024

Code execution in IBM Instana Observability 1.0.243 through 1.0.254 allows attackers to run arbitrary code via DNS poisoning. IBM has not published the affected component or the operation it performs incorrectly when resolving attacker-influenced DNS data. Reaching the flaw requires network adjacency, high privileges, and a successful DNS poisoning attack; execution occurs on the host.
