Unauthenticated account takeover via unvalidated updateUser requests
Published May 17, 2024 · Updated Apr 28, 2026
Authorization bypass in Booking Package 1.5.98 and earlier allows remote attackers to reset any user's email address and password. The updateUser function accepts account changes without validating that the caller is authorized to modify the specified user. Exploitation requires an active premium subscription and knowledge of the target username, and it permits takeover of that WordPress account.
