Code execution via malformed PCX file parsing
Published May 3, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Memory corruption in Kofax Power PDF 5.0.0.19 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code through a crafted PCX file. The PCX parser fails to validate user-supplied file data before performing memory operations, resulting in corruption within the current process. Exploitation requires the target to visit a malicious page or open the malicious file, and successful code runs with the process's privileges.
