Suppressed username disclosure via public page metadata
Published Jun 30, 2023 · Updated Nov 26, 2024
Information disclosure in MediaWiki ProofreadPage through 1.39.3 allows remote attackers to read suppressed reviewer usernames. PageContentHandler and PageDisplayHandler expose the page-level reviewer name through API-returned wikitext and prpPageQualityUser without checking whether the user is hidden. No authentication is required, but a reviewer account must first be suppressed after setting the page quality level; exposure is limited to its username.
