CVE-2023-37154Public exploit

Local command execution via injected SSH options

Published Oct 9, 2024 · Updated Oct 9, 2024

Command injection in Nagios Plugins 2.4.5 allows local users to execute commands through crafted check_by_ssh SSH options. check_by_ssh passes each -o value to the local SSH client, where ProxyCommand or enabled LocalCommand directives interpret ${IFS}-separated input as a shell command. The path requires permission to invoke the plugin and supply its arguments, and commands run on the check_by_ssh host rather than the SSH destination.
