Privilege escalation via overwritable root-access files
Published Sep 12, 2023 · Updated Sep 12, 2025
Privilege escalation in Honeywell Technologies PM42, PM45, and PX940 firmware allows local users to gain elevated filesystem access. The printer web page functionality permits an account holder to overwrite certain root-access files instead of protecting them from lower-privileged modification. Account access is required; affected builds are PM42 before L10.19.050004 or T10.19.050004, PM45 before J10.19.050004, and PX940 before H10.19.050004.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
