Post-title disclosure via unchecked shortcode post ID
Published Oct 16, 2023 · Updated Apr 23, 2025
IDOR in Automattic ActivityPub before 1.0.0 allows remote authenticated users to read arbitrary private or draft post titles. The [ap_title] shortcode accepts a caller-controlled post_ID through WordPress's parse-media-shortcode AJAX action without verifying that the selected post is public or belongs to the plugin. Subscriber access and a target post ID are sufficient; the response exposes only the selected post's title, not its content.
