CVE-2023-3699

Storage configuration modification via improper privilege enforcement

Published Aug 22, 2023 · Updated Oct 2, 2024

Improper privilege management in affected ASUSTOR Data Master (ADM) releases allows local users to modify storage-device configuration. ASUSTOR has not published the affected component or the operation that fails to enforce privilege boundaries before changing this configuration. Exploitation requires an existing low-privilege local account; the documented consequence is unauthorized storage configuration changes, while the CNA reports broader cross-scope confidentiality, integrity, and availability effects.
