Authenticated file creation via path traversal
Published Aug 17, 2023 · Updated Oct 8, 2024
Path traversal in the ADM printer service allows remote authenticated users to create files outside its intended directory. ASUSTOR has not disclosed the request parameter, endpoint, or path-normalization failure that permits traversal beyond the printer service's intended directory structure. Low-privileged network access and high attack complexity are required; exploitation creates attacker-chosen files outside the intended directory, while no command execution is established.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=4.0 <=4.0.6.RIS1
- Affected versionversion=4.1 <=4.1.0.RLQ1
- Affected versionversion=4.2 <=4.2.2.RI61
