Local code execution via Unicode extension DLL loading

Code injection in SAP SQLA for PowerDesigner 17 bundled with SAP PowerDesigner 16.7 allows local users to execute malicious code. The bundled SQL Anywhere ODBC connection loads a custom Unicode extension DLL from a writable system-drive bin64 location instead of restricting library resolution. Local write access to that search location is required, after which the library runs in the application's context and can control its behavior.
